Minimalist for a day June 21, 2009
I am the one at the left piano with my very goth black loooong dress…

Played our New York premiere of Simeon ten Holt’s Canto Ostinato in Make Music New York today ON THE STREET under a tent, after 2 hour sleep and 4 hour teaching =P
But, FUN!!! Rain came in and out, lots of people stayed for the whole thing, was told by two enthusiastic audience afterward that they drove in from DC just to hear us!
A whole recording and filming crew was there, during the performance, the wind even blew a heavy high def video camera down, smashed into my arm and landed on my piano keyboard making a big BANG to say the least… LOL quite a scare but I had a few chuckles…
We did many many hours of rehearsals the whole week, my very first time playing a minimalistic work, the kind of focus needed to perform it was something I’ve never experienced before… quite glad I did this.
Check out the mentions of us on New York Times & The New Yorker
If you want to catch us doing this again, I will be playing it with Jed on Aug 14th, 2009, 6 pm at the Cornelia Street Cafe
